Ask anyone who has spent time on lifestyle sites what they hate most and you will hear the same answer: profiles that are not real. Photos lifted from somewhere else, couples who turn out to be one man, accounts that message for weeks and never meet. It is the oldest complaint in this community, and most of the fixes on offer do not really fix it.
Why a photo check is not enough
Most sites call a profile verified when the person uploads a selfie holding a piece of paper with a code on it. That proves somebody had access to a camera and the photo at one moment. It does not prove the couple is a couple, that the photos are recent, or that the person has ever actually been out in the lifestyle.
What people really want to know is simpler: if we arrange to meet these people, will the people in the photos walk through the door?
How SwingTap verifies people
SwingTap answers that question the most direct way there is. Hosts put a check-in QR code at the entrance of their events. When a member scans it at the door, they are checked in as physically there, at a real event, run by a real host. That check-in is how the verified badge is earned. A human moderator can also grant it, but the default route is showing up.
The other half of trust: no fake activity
Some platforms have been criticised for filling empty sites with profiles or messages that are not from real members, to make a small community look busy. Whatever the truth on any particular site, the effect on members is the same: you stop believing anything you see.
SwingTap does not seed the community with fake profiles or fake messages, and there is no free tier designed to lure you in and then charge you to read a message someone sent. Membership is a renewing plan, stated upfront. The people in the Playground are the people who joined.
Protecting yourself anywhere
Verification helps, but a little common sense does most of the work. Wherever you meet people:
- Meet in public first. A drink or an event. Real couples expect it.
- Be wary of perfect photos. Studio lighting and model looks are a warning sign, especially from a new account.
- Notice pressure. Hurrying you to another app, to a private address, or to a decision is a red flag.
- Never send money. Not for a ticket, not for a hotel, not for gift cards. That is a scam every time.

No. It means you were confirmed at a real event, which is what most people actually care about when they arrange to meet.
Are unverified members fake?
No. Many are simply new and have not been to an event yet. The badge adds certainty; it is not an accusation.
